MAIN CHARACTERISTICS

• Tech-Air® 5 is a slim, self-contained airbag vest that can be worn under any convenient-fit or Tech-Air® compatible textile jacket, or any leather jacket with 4 cm of clearance near the circumference of the rider's chest. The Tech-Air® 5 offers unparalleled upper body protection, keeping riders safe by uniquely covering the rider's shoulders, chest, ribs and entire back. Shoulder protection is essential in the event of road impact, and riders' shoulders are uniquely protected with Tech-Air®, efficiently and effectively minimizing the risk of shoulder and collarbone injuries. The Alpinestars Tech-Air® 5 provides the most complete coverage of any free airbag available today.
• The next generation Tech-Air® 5 vest comes with an active electronics system that features 6 integrated sensors (3 gyroscopes and 3 accelerometers) and a crash algorithm that leverages AI to precisely monitor when to deploy the airbag in the event of a crash. Developed from years of research with over 50% of the world's top MotoGP riders and Alpinestars service customers, riding data from millions of kilometers and thousands upon thousands of crashes have been analyzed to continuously progress the intelligent crash detection algorithm. When a crash situation is identified, a protective airbag is deployed giving unparalleled protection to the rider with a maximum inflation time of 20 to 40 ms depending on the volume of the airbag size. Impact absorption while wearing the airbag results in an impact force reduction of up to 95% compared to a passive protector. The Tech-Air® 5 airbag system offers protection equivalent to eighteen standard back protectors.
• In addition, the system is exaggeratedly simple to use, just zipper up the vest and close the magnetized flap and you are ready to ride. An LED display indicates the operating status of the airbag and the integrated, certified lithium-ion battery lasts for 30 hours of driving time. The system comes equipped with a magnetic micro USB charger for fast, simple and convenient recharging.
• Tech-Air® 5 has Bluetooth connectivity and a Tech-Air® application that uses the driver's phone to display the system's operating status, battery status and a detailed analysis of a trip, the system's firmware can also be updated directly through the application.
